The eco-social crisis – breaking the logjam
Held on November 16-17, the third part of our education/training course began with a brilliant presentation by leading astrophysicist Professor Steve Miller. Steve outlined some of the key issues in the evolution of our universe.
He drew out some of the laws that govern its development and how knowledge of them can help us shape our future. See video, slides and follow the discussion...
A World to Win secretary Corinna Lotz's presentation made the connection between what Steve had said and how a dialectical approach to understanding the social world was essential for our practice.
Penny Cole and Matt Worsdale, two of the authors of Fracking Capitalism, explained the approach they had taken in writing the handbook and the range of solutions they put forward for tackling the eco-social crisis.
On both days, the inspirational Iraqi poet Adnan Al-Sayegh recited some of his deeply stirring poetry.
